the best light of the day, a mat, and a room in the centre of thessaloniki where meeting people is the whole point. this one is for singles 40 to 50. come on your own. most people do.
you walk into bowie house 🌿 one huge open room, massive windows, more light than you expect from an october afternoon. mats are already out. people arrive one by one, settling in the quiet way strangers do.
at 17:00 we take the first fifteen minutes to ease in. names, laughs, no pressure to be anywhere other than where you are.
then we drop into the practice. 45 minutes, beginner friendly, guided in simple english by Sophia Pavlou, a certified coach who'll take you a little deeper into the breath rather than deeper into the pose. nothing bendy. nothing you can't do. you breathe, you move, you stop thinking about your phone for a while. that's the whole thing.
by 18:00 the room feels different. you feel different. the guarded version of you that walked in left somewhere around pose three.
then we take it outside. the outdoor space is big and easy, plenty of seating, drinks from the bar, and the conversations start easier now, because you've already done the soft part together. nobody's in a rush to leave.
45 minutes to try something new. the rest of the afternoon to see who else did.
