Get ready for an elevated matchmaking experience at Blackbird — one of our fav venues overlooking the river, with sweeping Story Bridge views, sexy interiors and a buzzing atmosphere setting the scene for a night of mystery, mingling and new connections. ✨
Two Matchbox events. One big night! We're bringing together singles under 35 and ages 30–45 for two separate matching experiences under one roof. You'll mingle and be matched within your own event's age bracket, with the buzz of a bigger singles takeover!
Each guest will receive up to three highly compatible matches, carefully selected to maximise the potential for genuine chemistry.
Throughout the night, you'll mingle in curated groups, meet plenty of singles beyond your matches, and wait as your matches are revealed one by one. Who you end up clicking with? That part is still a mystery 😉
🧠 Matchbox Matching
Matchbox is where matchmaking meets relationship science. Powered by a Nobel Prize-backed algorithm, Matchbox has helped create over 500,000 matches across 40+ countries.
How it works:
Upon arrival, you'll complete a short matching questionnaire designed by Matchbox's team of relationship scientists and curated by your host.
The Matchbox algorithm analyses your responses to identify up to three highly compatible matches using relationship science and Nobel Prize-winning economic theory.
You'll then mingle within curated, values-aligned groups before your matches are revealed throughout the evening.
⏰ Important: You must arrive before 7:45PM to participate in the matching.

🗓 Event Schedule
🍸 7:00PM – Doors open, mingling begins ✨ 7:55PM – Matching questionnaire closes and the algorithm gets to work 💬 8:00PM – First group drops 💘 8:20PM – First match drops 🍸 8:30PM – Second group drops 😍 8:50PM – Second match drops 💫 9:00PM – Third group drops 🍹 9:20PM – Third match drops 🪩 9:30PM onwards – Keep chatting to your matches, or revisit other connections you made throughout the night.
👀 Good to Know
This event is for singles aged 30–45 (1–2 years either side is absolutely fine).
Two separate Matchbox events will be running at Blackbird, with dedicated matching experiences for each age bracket.
We aim for a 50/50 gender balance, although exact attendance ratios can't be guaranteed.
In some cases, one or two of your matches may be a platonic compatibility match. If you receive two platonic matches, we'll provide you with a complimentary ticket to a future event of equal or lesser value.
Come with an open mind — compatibility goes deeper than looks.
Matchbox helps with the matching, but the chemistry is up to you 😉

✨ $32 Early Bird Ticket arrive Pre 8pm, $38 General Admission Ticket arrive Pre 8pm, $45 On-The-Door Ticket on sale at 7:45pm on the night of the event and closed at 8pm. Must still be purchased online.
⏰ PLEASE AIM TO ARRIVE BETWEEN 7:00PM and 7:45PM. Latest arrival is 7:45PM. Please note, you will not be able to participate in the AI Matchmaking be if you arrive post 7:45PM - this element is included in the ticket price.
